The Viviendo Rechazo (Living Rejection) series consists of fifteen abstract paintings (15x20/20x20 cm), each originating from a real interpersonal relationship.

Every work begins with a specific encounter. The paintings are not portraits of people, nor are they attempts to document personal events. Instead, they explore the invisible space that emerges between two individuals—the emotional field where trust, distance, belonging, misunderstanding, or rejection can quietly take shape.

What interests me is not the identity of the people involved, but the dynamics of the relationship itself. I use abstraction to move beyond biography and invite viewers to recognize their own experiences within these emotional landscapes.

The series grew out of my own lived experience of exclusion within a group. Yet while rejection became the starting point, the creative process gradually revealed another question: how does belonging emerge, even in places where we feel we do not belong?

Looking back, I realized that alongside experiences of rejection there were also moments of genuine human support. Those encounters became the conceptual foundation of the exhibition itself. The project is therefore not about rejection alone, but about the fragile and often unexpected ways in which belonging begins to grow.

The rejection existed, but so did the relationship

La serie Viviendo Rechazo está compuesta por quince pinturas abstractas (de 15x20/20x20 cm), cada una de ellas nacida de una relación interpersonal real.

Cada obra comienza con un encuentro concreto. No son retratos de personas ni intentos de documentar acontecimientos biográficos. Exploran el espacio invisible que surge entre dos individuos: ese territorio emocional donde pueden aparecer, de forma casi imperceptible, la confianza, la distancia, el sentido de pertenencia, el malentendido o el rechazo.

Mi interés no se centra en la identidad de quienes participan en esas relaciones, sino en la dinámica que se crea entre ellos. Utilizo la abstracción para ir más allá de la experiencia personal e invitar al espectador a reconocer sus propias vivencias dentro de estos paisajes emocionales.

La serie nació de una experiencia personal de exclusión dentro de un grupo. Sin embargo, a medida que avanzaba el proceso creativo, el rechazo dejó de ser el tema central y dio paso a una pregunta más amplia: ¿cómo nace el sentimiento de pertenencia, incluso en aquellos lugares donde creemos no pertenecer?

Al mirar atrás comprendí que, junto a las experiencias de rechazo, también habían existido gestos de apoyo sincero y encuentros profundamente humanos. Esas experiencias se convirtieron en el verdadero fundamento conceptual de la exposición.

Por ello, Viviendo Rechazo no habla únicamente del rechazo. Habla de la vulnerabilidad de las relaciones humanas y de las formas, frágiles e inesperadas, en las que el sentido de pertenencia puede comenzar a crecer.
